They feel simple:

• it looks intentional on a shelf

• it arrives giftable, not “handled”

That simplicity is usually the result of many small checks done consistently.

So here is ours.

The Pruneme Quality Checklist

(This is the human version—clear and honest.)

1) Scent is checked for balance (not just “strength”)

We design fragrance with structure—notes that unfold as the candle warms.

We check for:

• a clean first impression (not sharp or harsh)

• a middle that feels rounded (not one-note)

• a base that lingers without turning heavy

• consistency with the product’s written notes and mood

Why it matters: strong isn’t always better. Balanced is what you live with.

2) Burn behavior is validated at the run level

We don’t treat burn performance as luck. It’s part of the product.

At the run/design level, we pay attention to:

• melt pool progression (tunneling risk)

• flame stability in calm conditions

• relight behavior

• soot/smoke tendencies (minimized with proper wick care and no drafts)

Why it matters: you shouldn’t need a perfect setup for a candle to feel “easy.”

(Care note: any candle can misbehave in strong drafts—placement matters.)

3) Wick and vessel pairing stays consistent

A candle is a system: wax + wick + fragrance + vessel.

We check for:

• the wick staying centered and stable

• the vessel and wick pairing staying consistent with the intended burn pace

• a calm, low-drama flame under normal conditions

Why it matters: a great fragrance can still feel disappointing if the burn isn’t steady.

4) Wax surface and set are checked (with a realistic standard)

Real wax does real wax things. Some surface variation is cosmetic and normal.

We check for:

• overall neat appearance

• no obvious issues that would affect performance

• a finish that still feels “kept” and intentional

Why it matters: the candle should feel premium before it’s even lit.

5) Vessel and label finish are checked for the “kept” look

Quiet luxury is mostly alignment and cleanliness.

We check for:

• clean vessel (no residue, smudges, or dust)

• label placement that looks straight and intentional

• consistent presentation across candles in the same run

Why it matters: if it’s giftable, it should arrive giftable.

6) Packaging is checked like it’s part of the product (because it is)

Packaging isn’t decoration. It protects the candle and sets the tone.

We check for:

• secure placement so the candle doesn’t shift

• clean, consistent presentation

• protective materials that reduce scuffs and dust

• an unboxing that feels calm, not chaotic

Why it matters: the first impression should match the candle.

7) Order accuracy gets a real check

This is unglamorous, but it matters.

We check:

• correct scent and size

• correct quantity

• any add-ons or gift notes included

• address and label legibility

Why it matters: reliability is a form of luxury.

8) Shipping readiness + expectations are verified

A premium product needs clear expectations.

We check for:

• packaging durability for transit

• correct shipping label and carrier method

• up-to-date shipping timelines and policy clarity

Why it matters: “kept” also means “well-managed.”

Do you inspect every candle?

We follow a consistent run-based process and finish checks, and we pay close attention to presentation and order accuracy before shipping.

Why can wax surfaces sometimes look slightly different?

Wax is a real material and can show cosmetic variation depending on temperature and setting conditions. Cosmetic variation doesn’t necessarily affect performance.

What should I do if something arrives damaged or off?
